G2000 Fast Interceptor Craft
(FIC) MKII 18m Class

OVERVIEW

The Gading Marine G2000 MKII is an 18-meter aluminum-hulled Fast Interceptor Craft (FIC) developed for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) as an enhanced successor to the MKI variant. Powered by twin MAN V12 1650 hp engines and Hamilton HTX42 waterjets, it achieves speeds up to 52 knots and offers a range exceeding 350 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 35 knots. Key upgrades include a 12.7mm Remote-Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS)—either Escribano Sentinel 2.0 or Aselsan STAMP-L—alongside two rear-mounted 7.62mm machine guns, significantly boosting its firepower.

The MKII features a redesigned superstructure with improved visibility, expanded aft deck space for special forces deployment, and enhanced crew accommodations, including air conditioning and onboard facilities. With a crew capacity of five and seating for eight additional personnel, the vessel is equipped for diverse missions such as coastal patrol, rapid response, search and rescue, and clandestine operations. Thirteen units were commissioned by the Malaysian government in 2022, with deliveries commencing in 2024 to strengthen maritime security, particularly in Eastern Sabah.
