The Gading Marine G2000 FIC MK1 is an 18-meter aluminum-hulled Fast Interceptor Craft developed for the Royal Malaysian Navy to bolster coastal security and rapid response missions. Powered by twin MAN 1550 hp diesel engines and Hamilton HM461 waterjets, it can reach speeds up to 52 knots with a range exceeding 350 nautical miles at cruising speed. Designed for agility in Malaysia’s shallow coastal waters, the MK1 accommodates five crew members and eight additional personnel, and is equipped with essential navigation and communication systems along with two 7.62mm machine guns for basic defense. Delivered in 2020–2021, it represents a key step in Malaysia’s move toward locally built, high-performance naval assets.
